2008 Recap

* January 1 at midnight: Got my very first New Year’s Kiss! Spent what would be my last New Year’s Eve in Highland, IL.

* January 2: Got Engaged to the man of my dreams! Started planning the perfect wedding, which was also a perfect nuisance, since all I wanted was to be with my Love in peace and quiet…

* End of January: Pete left for India. For the next two months, my heart missed him, and wished for him, and feared for him.

* February: got my first "cool job" at Maurice’s in the mall

* End of March: my fiancé returned! He moved in with Adam and Ben Worrel in Springfield, where I would soon live in the same apartment complex

* End of May: graduated from four years of college with a major in Sociology and a minor in Communication! Said goodbye to a million amazing, spectacular friends and women who I'd come to love

* May- started getting really sick of Maurice’s because of extensive consumerism that filled all of our customers (and began to fill me)…so I got hired by a restaurant instead, where people blissfully feed their gluttony and stiff their waiters

* May-June: Went to Alaska on a cruise with my cousins for a week

* Spent an amazing summer with amazing girls in Apt. 226F at the Polo Club, and was just a parking lot away from four awesome guys (Pete, Adam, Ben, Ross)

* June- started work with my husband-to-be at Olive Garden

* Took a fun-filled camping trip with Callie, Ashley, Pete, Adam, Ben, Jesse, & Jimmy…a perfect weekend of uphill hiking, cliff jumping, swimming, and campfires…and bugs

* July- went to Hawaii to see Jerome and Becca tie the knot! Flew to Kona to realize we were not meant to live there. Bummer for both of us that the island was filled with Vog..

* Witnessed the marriage of Brittany and Nick Eilert in Topeka!

* August- started apartment hunting with the handsome fiancé, and made the decision to reside in Springfield instead of immediately moving to Hawaii

* September- GOT MARRIED!!!!!! An act I never thought I’d do but so glad I did. I. Got. Married. Took a honeymoon to Branson to save money and avoid airplanes…the real honeymoon will come later... That’s when we’ll hit the resorts.

* Went to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch a few times to climb and hike and enjoy…met Sonny Trotter, woo hoo!

* Started praying for community because friends were few and far between…

* Learned of Pete’s parent’s marital difficulties…hard time followed, and followed into the new year

* November- Went to a marriage conference in St. Louis and learned A LOT. Awesome weekend at a gorgeous hotel with my new husband.

* Found my love for Donald Miller books

* November- Witnessed the marriage of Ashley and Adam Worrel!Yahoo for best friends marrying best friends!

* Spent our first Thanksgiving with people other than our families…spent it with Trever and Brooke, our new friends. Played games, ate great food, started planning game nights for every Tuesday! A serious answer to our prayers for community.

* December 19- Beat Pete for the very first time at Racquetball…and on his BIRTHDAY! Yesss.

* Started the tradition of making wreath’s at Christmas, bought our very first Christmas tree which was almost 5 feet tall, and had friends over for Christmas sing alongs! It was quite the time.

* December 25- finally attained Season 5 of Alias! Great day in history. Spent the day with good friends, who came over for Christmas lasagna! (Callie, Trever, Brooke, Shey)

* Spent a fantastic New Years with my best friend Sandee, and also Zach, Pete, and Nate (Zach’s roommate). Discovered Nonna’s Italian Restaurant downtown, discovered Building 429 in concert, and began sponsoring Micheline Dolfino.

It was notably a fantastic year.
